Introduction :
The teaching of Defence & Strategic Studies was started in June 1973 and was started as a special subject in June 1979 at the UG level. The faculty members are credited to write Books, Research Publications & Research Projects. The Department successfully organized one national seminar and one national conference funded by UGC. Around 1000 books related to Defence Studies are available in the Central Library.
- • To cultivate a sense of patriotism among students and a commitment to protecting and defending the country from internal and external threats, including terrorism, cyber-attacks, and other forms of security risks.
- • To provide students with a thorough understanding of the complexities of national security, including the impact of historical, political and economic factors on military strategy and decision-making.
- • To evaluate the impact of technological advancements on military operations and the changing nature of warfare, and to formulate effective strategies and policies to overcome challenges and achieve goals.
- • The Department successfully organized one national seminar funded by UGC
- • The Department organised one national conference in 2016 funded by UGC
- • The Department Celebrated the Surgical Day
- • The Department organised a lecture series on the Occasion of ‘Kargil Vijay Divas’
- • Gavit Vishal Bhimsing ranked third in KBC North Maharashtra University, Jalgaon in April 2019
